How does pricing work? Will the price change after we start?
Every project is quoted at a fixed price before any work begins. You approve the number in writing, and that is what you pay. We do not use hourly billing, and we do not add line items mid-project. If you want to add features that were not in the original scope, we scope and price that addition separately, and nothing moves forward without your sign-off. The price only changes if the scope changes, and only ever with your agreement.
Do I need to be technical to work with you?
Not at all. Most of our clients are business owners and founders, not developers. Our US-based project lead handles all client communication and translates your business goals into technical requirements. You tell us what problem you need to solve and what outcome you want, we figure out how to build it. You will never need to know what framework we used or how the database is structured unless you want to.
What do I need to have ready before we start?
Just a clear idea of what you want to build and the problem it should solve. You do not need wireframes, a technical specification, or a development background. The discovery phase of every project is specifically designed to turn your idea into a concrete build plan. If you have design assets, existing code, or third-party accounts we will need to integrate, having those ready helps, but they are not a prerequisite for getting started.
How do I communicate with the team during the project?
Your dedicated project lead is your primary point of contact throughout the entire project. They are US-based, work US business hours, and handle all client communication directly. You will be kept in the loop via weekly demos and written progress updates through email or Slack, whichever you prefer. You will never chase us for a status update. We send them proactively on a regular cadence.
What if the final product is not what I expected?
We prevent this through milestone-based delivery. Rather than disappearing for three weeks and revealing a finished product, we share working builds at each milestone so you can see real progress and give feedback while changes are cheap. Every project includes a structured revision round after the first complete build. If something does not match what was agreed in the written scope, we fix it at no additional cost. Clear scope documentation up front is how we make sure expectations are aligned before a single line of code is written.
How is DMAX Labs different from hiring a freelancer?
A freelancer is one person. When they are sick, blocked, or juggling other clients, your project stalls. With DMAX Labs you get a team, a dedicated project lead managing the relationship and scope, paired with a senior technical lead handling all development and architecture, along with the processes and tools that come with a professional agency. You also get fixed pricing, milestone-based delivery, written agreements, 30 days of post-launch support, and a single point of contact who is reachable during US business hours. Freelancers often cannot offer that combination.
Do I own the code after the project is finished?
Yes, 100%. On launch day, we transfer the complete source code to a GitHub repository of your choosing. You own all the intellectual property. There are no ongoing license fees, no code we keep back, and no lock-in of any kind. You can hand it to any developer in the world the next day. We document the codebase specifically so that your future developers, whether in-house or contractors, can work with it without needing to call us.
